Major Life Changes on the Horizon...
Hello all. It's been a while, and I've been putting off posting this bit of news for a few weeks, but it's time.
David and I are getting a divorce.
I signed the quit claim deed today, basically releasing me from any responsibility concerning our house and mortgage. David keeps the house, and I am moving to an apartment in Ardsley Park (536A E. 49th Street). We're trying to remain friends, so the whole process has been amicable and respectful, though it IS sad. The hardest thing is the finances, the stuff, splitting everything down the middle, and the dogs....well, the dogs are going to stay with their Daddy. That way they have a yard and their little pack doesn't get split up. It doesn't mean I won't have any contact with them - I'll still have a key to the house so that I can hang out and play with them, take them for walks, etc. I'll still help with the vet bills of course. Other than that, I'll be starting my life anew, I guess. So THAT'S why I put "single" in my Facebook profile *wink*
Those of you who already knew, thanks for not making a big deal out of it - I don't want condolences or anything like that. This was my decision, and I don't regret it at all. David was exactly what I needed when we got married at THAT time in my life. But I've changed, and he's changed - and that's the way it goes. We'll be a lot happier in the long run.
And I'm looking FORWARD to my life now!! The sky's the limit - I'm excited and in control and FREE. The ONLY THINGS that really sucks right now is the fact that I had FINALLY added "Rousseau" to the end of my name, and now I have to take it OFF of everything - website, this blog, promotional material. UGH. So I have my work cut out for me.
